Although I’ve not always found myself in step with the choices of the SIBA membership, I wholeheartedly endorse the selection of Mr. Conroy to represent contemporary Southern writing. Congratulations to Pat and to SIBA.
If you haven’t read Conroy, you’ve probably seen a film adaptation of one of his books, including The Prince of Tides, The Great Santini, The Water is Wide (Conrack), or The Lords of Discipline. Click on any of these book covers to learn more about Conroy’s literary legacy.
